The Hebrew phrase נֵר תָּמִיד—Ner Tamid—means "eternal light." It refers to the lamp that illuminates and consecrates a Jewish place of worship, modest but steady, never going out. This ring is meant to recall that we each carry a similar flame, and that we count on each other's brightness and energy.
